Honors Spanish-Third Year I/ II is designed to meet the unique needs of accelerated learners who desire less repetition of material, broader language experiences, greater challenges to develop a higher language level and expanded preparation for college level requirements. Authentic texts, videos and audio will be used as students study a variety of topics to improve their Spanish-language skills in oral and written form, including current events, geography, and diverse themes related to Spain, the Caribbean, Mexico and South America and the Hispanic influence in the United States. The textbook ¡Qué chévere! 3 integrates language practice with culture--its practices, products and perspectives-- to create a rich learning environment that explores the themes of school, sports and leisure activities, families and households, news and media, urban life, travel, and more. Practice continues outside of class by using the textbook online with its companion website. Students successfully completing this course become eligible to participate in travel programs offered by ISD #200.
