Sociedad Quijote Project Information
Spanish Honor Society Make a Difference Service Projects: Are multi-dimensional Spanish Honor Society projects which focus on making a difference in our community and our world.
Iglesia: This project involves providing assistance for a Spanish speaking church in Minneapolis. A clothing drive is held to collect winter clothing, and other activities are organized throughout the year with the church for the students involved with this project.
Elementary Language Partnerships: In this project, Sociedad Quijote members have the opportunity to work with elementary classes from select Hastings schools. This project includes communicating with the assigned elementary teacher to find dates suitable for both you and your class’s schedules. It also involves planning and teaching three basic Spanish lessons to a class of elementary students. * Note: the lesson plans are expected to be well thought out: it is highly encouraged to use props such as poster boards etc.
The Ping Pong Tournament: This is a fundraiser to raise money to fund a child’s education in Oaxaca, Mexico!! In preparation for the tournament, we need volunteers to make posters to advertise the tournament, volunteers to be referees, and volunteers to help set up the commons, etc. The tournament is always lots of fun and raises money for a great cause. Your help would be greatly appreciated; there is always a lot to do to make this fundraiser a success!
