Grades: 10, 11, 12
Prerequisite: Spanish-Second Year I/II or teacher
In this course, students will gain an increased
comprehension of current and historical trends in Latin America and Spain, and
in the diverse Hispanic community in the United States. Students will use
Spanish language skills and concepts developed in earlier courses, and learn to
apply and manipulate them with greater independence. This course supports
students who wish to continue their study of the Spanish language and meet the
proficiency standards set by post-secondary institutions. Using the textbook
Realidades 3 by Pearson Education 2008®, thematic units include daily life,
memories, art, nutrition and exercise, personal relationships, and work and
community. Class work will make use of individual, pair and group work.
Practice continues outside of class by using the textbook online with its
companion Website. Students successfully completing this course become eligible
to participate in travel programs offered by ISD #200.
