Students in their senior year can take Economics or College Microeconomics (1 credit) AND a Social 12 Elective (1 credit), OR they can take a full year of AP U.S. Government and Politics (2 credits). 

SCIENCE - 6 CREDITS TOTAL

All HHS students must earn three years of science credits (6 semester credits) to meet the graduation requirement. Students must take and pass Science 9 (Chemistry and Physics) for 2 credits: a Biology for 2 credits; and two (2) additional credits of science. Students in the class of 2015 and beyond must take and pass a Chemistry or Physics course for 2 credits to meet the state science requirement. Students who have been accepted into the Accelerated Science program must complete 8 credits of science including Honors Biology, Honors Chemistry, Physics or AP Physics and one other upper level science course

All math courses have prerequisites, and all math courses are sequential. Students begin their math sequence while in middle school. Students in the class of 2014 and beyond must take Advanced Algebra.

ART - 2 CREDITS TOTAL

Art includes all classes in the Art and Music departments plus Floral Design and Landscape in the Horticultural Department; Screen-Printing, Drafting I/II, Architectural Drawing I/II, General Metals I/II, Photography, and Advanced Woodworking Technology I/II in the Industrial Technology Department; and Design in Housing in the Family and Consumer Science Department.
