Scott Doran - Principal

Mr. Doran has dedicated the better part of three decades to public education having served as a classroom teacher, dean of students, assistant principal, and now principal of Hastings High School. He is a member of the Minnesota Association of Secondary School Principals (MASS) and the National Association of Secondary School Principals (NASSP). He graduated with a Bachelor's Degree from Cornell College, from St. Mary's with a Master's in Education, and from St. Thomas where he received his principal licensure and a Specialist Degree. All eighteen years of Mr. Doran's teaching career were spent in alternative education. He believes that each and every student can be successful and that sometimes that success may be found on another path. He is most excited about the implementation of our new pathway program here at the high school. Students will now have the opportunity to better focus their passions through innovative course sequencing and selection. Whether a student is interested in entering the workforce right out of high school, planning on joining the military, or attending a technical/community college or a traditional four year college or university, we are dedicated to providing the education and related experiences to best prepare them for their future.
