It's time to select YOUR courses...
Below are the recommended steps for selecting your courses for registration at Hastings High School, along with helpful information, activities, links, and “How-To” videos. Please choose your courses thoughtfully, as your registration choices guide our offerings and course pathways.

STEP 1: REQUIREMENTS
Select what you need to graduate (English, Math, Science, Social Studies, etc...). Use your Course Planner in Xello to see what you need for your grade level or check our Graduation Requirements.
Consider teacher recommendations—they know your strengths—but the choice is ultimately yours.
If you’re ready, level up at least one class next year (Honors or Raiders U - College Credit Courses) in a subject you enjoy or do well in. Check the recommended or required prerequisites in Xello or in the Course Guide.
STEP 2: ADVANCEMENTS
Select electives that move you toward your career/major goal.
In your Xello "About Me Profile", review recommended Career Clusters and select a top career of interest. Under the selected career, find a major in the recommended education and training to see courses in high school you could take.
Find your Pathway in the Pathways Guide or use the search feature in the Xello Course Planner to find courses in your Pathway.
STEP 3: ENHANCEMENTS
Select electives that grow you as a person: music, global languages, art, personal fitness, yearbook, work-based learning, etc… or try something outside your Pathway to explore new interests. We’ve got great options in our Course Guide!
Keep the balance. Make sure your course load is manageable with any sports, activities, volunteering, or work that you are involved with outside of school.
STEP 4: AGREEMENTS
Review your course selections with your parent/guardian and make sure everyone understands your choices, workload, and goals.
Confirm together that:
You’ve met graduation requirements.
You’ve chosen advancements that fit your future plans.
Your enhancements keep your schedule meaningful and manageable.
SUBMIT once you have finalized your selections in your Xello Course Planner.
